Watch out: troubles

hi guys,

Just to inform you about strange things.  2 days ago we received a request from kennedy. new guest, no reviews. he wrote that he wanted to stay at ours for 11 days but had some questions. he provided us with his telephone number using a way of writing that airbnb censor wouldnt detect. we accepted request in order to stay withing 24 hours accepting limit and wrote that he was more then happy to ask questions through the airbnb app.
we never heard back from him.

now we go a request from kayla. same style, same message style, same period, also providing phone number. this is odd. those 2 individuals are up to bad things? or something is wrong here and it is way to suspicious that this happened twice. Somebody had this before? What would be the scam?

Hi @Ellen33,

This is the Dutch community. So, you can also use Dutch in this thread 😉

In order to keep your response-rate at the highest level.

You do not need to pre-approve or decline a message of type: Inquiry.

Just a message back (preferably within 1 hour), will stop the ‘clock’ (Just refresh your session, and you will notice).

Potential guests providing their telephone number in a concealed way. Are hoping you will call them back. So, they may try to book with you, outside of Airbnb.

This is a serious red flag!

As you did not call them back. Obviously they will not react to your message either (as that will not get them, what they are after).

By using the little flag, next to the profile of these guests. You can report such users to the Airbnb Trust and Safety Team. And they will deal with this (most likely ban them for life of the platform).

Success!

Hello @Ellen33, I agree with Cor on this. You should always keep all your communication on the Airbnb platform.

And yes, this is indeed the Dutch-speaking community so you're more than welcome to speak Dutch if you'd like :-).

Groetjes,

Quincy

Bedankt.

Was de bedoeling om in het engelse forum te posten. Ik vind het gewoon te verdacht dat we op 3 dagen 2x zo een bericht krijgen voor exact dezelfde dagen.

Bedankt voor jullie feedback
