One of the things I love about this community is how varied everyone’s hosting journeys are. For some, hosting is a full time focus, while for others it fits alongside other work and commitments. Both paths bring different experiences, challenges and rewards.
I’m curious to hear from you. Do you consider yourself a full time host, a part time host, or somewhere in between? Has that shaped the way you welcome guests and manage your space?
It would be great to share insights with one another, especially for those who might be considering a change in the way they host.
@Nandini11 you really put a lot of thought into hosting, and that’s brilliant. What’s the one thing you always do to help guests feel at home when they arrive?
Howdy @Rebecca
I wasn't after an income, I didn't have a mortgage to be covered so, apart from visits by family and friends I started off thinking I might get the odd guest or two, maybe one a month or possibly up to three.....just something to give me a bit of extra pocket money.
What I hadn't counted on, Airbnb is a hosting site and, there was a great pool of Airbnb guests out there who wanted to be hosted! They didn't just want a room for the night.....they wanted a 'pit stop' to compliment their days travel. I quickly realised my review base was going to be my pot of gold. That was almost 1,000 reviews ago!
And the $270,000 Airbnb has put into my account is the icing on the cake!
Cheers........Rob.
Welcome back @Robin4! - it's wonderful to see your name pop back up again!
Thanks so much for the insight into your hosting journey, as always, your passion for the people really shines through.
Hi Rebecca, I am something in Between, Airbnb is a side business for me, working with my family, sometimes I am full time, somedays just part time, but always thinking how to improve our Airbnb business. It is a daily learning process for us.
Hi @Emi7397 , it's great to hear from you 😍
What’s one thing you or your family have learned recently that’s made a big difference in your hosting style? We'd love to hear more!

I manage these rooms part-time and full-time. I retired early because my grandfather had a stroke. So while taking care of my sick grandfather, I also manage the rooms on the 2nd floor. It's really cool to have extra income.
Hi @Edi2496 , Thank you for sharing! It's inspiring to hear how you balance caring for your grandfather with managing your Airbnb rooms.
What’s your favourite part about hosting while juggling your caregiving responsibilities?
Kind regards,
Hi there!
It's great to know some more about Airbnb. I was waiting for contacting someone else to meet and learn about this new job which I love it. By now I am a part time host.
Nice day
Eve
Salut @Rebecca ,

Hello @Laëtitia-Stephy0 👋
I am a part time host. But consider as ful time as i aways ready to help my guest when ever they needed
That's a lovely consideration @Deepak132. What type of requests from guests during their stay?
