As a 30yr housekeeper I have never seen such lies on the housekeeping staff do we miss thing once in a while sure ! Humans make mistakes but I have seen guest stage dirt underwear state things were dirty and they cleaned it and then sent picture claiming places were bugs infested when it was a dead moth . After leaving doors open . Stay 2 days and then state the place was dirty and get a refund ! How can host continue! With this kind of turn over ! And well these kinds of guest get good housekeepers fired ! Finding a great cleaner is hard and when guest complain so many time just to get money back ! Housekeepers don't stay ! Do better Airbnb if they stay they pay !!! Reduce the fee if they prove the complaint! But to refund everything ! Your killing your own business ! Tight up on refunds !
To avoid false damage or cleanliness claims, make it a habit to document your property before every check-in. Use the Airbnb messaging feature to send “clean and guest-ready” photos, or upload a short video walkthrough showing the condition of each area on the day of arrival. Whenever possible, include visible timestamps or mention the date and time in your message. This provides solid proof that the unit was clean and in good condition at turnover.
