Can we PLEASE have a pet fee? PLEASE?

How hard is this to create a toggle for pet fee?

We have resort fees, laundry fees, management fees, but still no pet fee. Why is this?

@Linnea-Or-David0 its awkard and sets up the situation for the host to have to make extra effort to collect. Guests hate extra fees. Many on this forum have lamented even being charged a cleaning fee. We have a small additional fee per guest over 2 per night and you might be shocked to see the lengths that people will go to to avoid paying that. 

It would be much easier and cleaner for the fee to be rolled in at the time of booking rather than try to chase guests for it after they have already paid. That said, people will probably still try to avoid it, but at least it will be built into the platform itself.

@Linnea-Or-David0 are you under the mis-impression that people read our descriptions carefully? 🙂 You'll note that I made that point in my first post, but I bet you didn't read that far/carefully to see it the first time. Hence our problem with your solution.

The reason to make pets more granular is for better search, i.e. "find me places that allow cats." "Pets" is overbroad, and by including our property in the "Pets allowed" category, we have people book and then assume that means all pets, and not just dogs.

Almost 100% of my guests have pets; it's one of the top reasons they choose my place.  I build the cost into my nightly rate, since there is no better way.  I do let them know I'll charge a pet fee if they leave a mess, such as poo in the yard.  I've never done it though--mostly it's a firm reminder to clean up after your pet.  It's too much trouble to collect the fee after-the-fact.

I do not understand why damages done by pets would not be covered.
