Describe the year 2025 as a host in one word

Describe the year 2025 as a host in one word Airbnb Community Center.jpg

Hi everyone 👋

We’re almost at the end of another hosting year, and I thought it would be fun to reflect on how it’s been for you.

If you had to describe your 2025 as a host in just one word, what would it be?

Whatever your word, I’d love it if you could share it below and tell me a little about why you chose it.

I can’t wait to read your words and stories.

Hi @Allan489 😊

Thank you for sharing this here.

I heard about the situation in the Philippines, and I’m really sorry about it.

How did you manage the cleaning at your second property? Did you hire someone?

Hi @Elisa , it was a community effort with the neighbors searching for missing roof panels and help from the residents. Everyone was in the same situation so people helped out as much as they could. My wife was mostly coordinating it however we did have to hire someone to clean the drainage and septic tank, also for tree removal for mostly fallen banana trees. They grow back quickly and the people are resilient here.

Hi @Allan489 😊

It’s beautiful to see how the community helps each other.

Well done to your wife! I wish you a wonderful year ahead and all the best to your loved ones as well!

@Allan489 thinking of you. As we hear what is happening to our neighbours in the Pacific Ocean. In my community we have a few of your countrymen living in our local area. I think it must be daunting to keep up the momentum of repairing, cleaning and building your own personal spirit. Take care and thank you for sharing your word of "Rollercoaster".

@Elisa I love the feeling of  waiting for guests to arrive and wondering what they will be like and what they will think of my accommodation

I love putting guests at ease and going that extra mile to make their stay really special

Hi @Amanda2723 😊

I agree, it’s a fun feeling.

How do you help your guests feel at ease?

HI Rebecca

I am very proud and happy from March to September but unfortunately since 3 months I haven't had new booking, do you know what can I do about it? After all I am 2 times superhost so I couldn't be more satisfied for this 2025! Hope to hear from you soon and to continue hosting in 2026; it's a pleasure and for me a very big passion most of all, thanks for messaging me; kind regards

Challenging!

First Challenge:

Well we have a lot of people moving into West Texas where I live due to the world largest Data Center being built in these parts. These people have never experienced West Texas summers and many of them work outdoors, so their complaint is always about having perfect indoor temperatures, but with the moisture and the humidity it is an challenge for hosts.

Further more these guests have zero tolerance for discomfort, but then they have to face extreme discomfort as that is why they are paid a whole bunch more. So that leaves them venting their frustration on hosts, which is not fair.

Second challenge:

Men who have super clingy, super controlling and toxic girlfriends. They want to micromanage the men and often preted to be the guy and do the booking on his behalf, and disrespect hosts like me who are female because they are afraid that their men will run off intot he sunset with their attractive host.

Third challenge:

Older people who have zero to no hygiene, who bring stuff that you don't want into your home.

Hi @Simone1229!

What did you discover during this year? Was it something you could apply to your listing or your experiences with guests? 🏡

@Alex I think the discoveries range from small things like the details that guests appreciate most to technical things like new settings, strategies, and even problem management, increasing knowledge about Airbnb and this world. I think that every year we learn more 🙂
