Describe your hosting style in one word!

Elisa_0-1776346703590.jpeg

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re having a great week!

Hosting styles vary widely among hosts, but many share a common goal of making guests feel welcome and at ease. Some hosts are very hands-on. Others prefer a more independent approach.

Many find a balance between the two, stepping in when needed while allowing space.

What would you describe your hosting style in one word?

I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts!

Warm regards,
Elisa

Hi @Cecilia1484 👋

“Accommodating” sums it up nicely. What’s the most unusual request you’ve managed to fulfil lately, and how did it go? And have you ever had to draw the line when a request was a bit too much? 😊

Oh I like this one @Ebony111

Can you share a little more about how you came to 'direct' for your hosting style?

Hi @Lynn2231 👋

It does sound like you’ve put a lot of thought into keeping things clear and hassle-free for everyone.

How do you decide which bits of information to highlight first for guests? 😊

I love that @Mrs-Emma-Claude0 - mindful is a lovely way to describe your hosting style. How does this translate into your actions as a host?

If I had to use only one word to describe my hosting style, I would say it is “Prepared”. I prepare the space thinking ahead of the guest. The lint roller is there before they notice they need it. The garden is set before they step outside. The stay doesn’t react. It anticipates.

Hi @Anabel338 👋

“Prepared” says it all. How do you plan for this? Do you have a checklist?

Attentive I try to be available when needed while also giving guests their space to feel comfortable.”

Hi @Nathan4569 👋

Striking that balance isn’t easy. How do you judge the right moment to step in without making guests feel watched? 😊

That word would be “ Curated” ….. we realize that guests are not the same and many come from different countries , states , cities . We have reached out individually for years to create agendas , activities and information that maybe someone from a different country would need versus someone from just a different town just 5 minutes away .

not knowing where guests are coming from is going to be a barrier to pre plan and pre - prepare for guests …. Asking every single one is not an option, nor practical . This change will be a degradation in guest experience

Thanks for sharing this, @Brian3836.Where do your guests usually come from?

Hi Paula , where our guest come from is an interesting split . Half come from just 30 minutes away as Houston is a city with millions seeking an escape . The other half are a blend of multiple countries . Lots from Canada , England Australia . France , so it has been important to know where guests are from ahead of time To help better curate their overall experience .

Thoughtful.  I try to anticipate my guests needs and ensure that the cottage includes even the little things, like extra toiletries if they have forgotten anything and a cooler with ice packs for day trips.
