First time guest =no review

First time guest =no review

Hi All

My wife and I are retired professionals in Canada with children in LA. We were declined an Air BB because we do not have any reviews. ( this was our first time attempting to rent an Air BB).
How do we overcome the’Catch22’ of not having a review as a guest if we cannot become a guest ?

any help appreciated

@Gregory431  You can start by filling out your profile, adding a face picture, and verifying your ID. Once you've done all of that, most hosts will be satisfied that you are who you say you are, and not a burglar or serial killer.

The way you communicate in your initial request also makes a difference. Hosts who are wary of unreviewed guests are usually receptive to a well-written message that conveys the purpose of your visit and also demonstrates appreciation for the listing and awareness of the House Rules and check-in time.

There is a search filter available to display only listings that you can Instant Book without having to send a request, but if you don't earn the host's trust with a complete profile and good correspondence, they may still cancel your booking.
