I have just had my host cancel 2 days before I am due to stay.
Seems the consequences for hosts are minor compared to guests who then have to find alternative options often at more considerable cost.
So as a guest I don't see a lot of support or moves to restrict host cancellations. Airbnb are known for this issue. I have never had this issue with other providers.
@Anh562 Hosts are penalized. The cancelled dates cannot be rebooked, no payment is received, and too many cancellations cause the listing to be removed from Airbnb.
In my opinion, because you as a guest pay a rather high service fee for the use of the platform, you should be demanding immediate assistance in obtaining an alternate accommodation.
