I have had my STR for 3 1/2 years. On several occasions I’ve had guests show up with animals. I have a strict no pets policy and have even added a $250 fee for showing up with them. People still bring pets, even a raccoon to the house trying to sneak them in. Most of the time I see them within a few hours as I live by the house. I tell them there is a no pet policy and they always act like they did not know. I have yet to be able to collect the pet fee, even going thru AirBNB. AirBnB paid the first time as a “one time” policy but now I am just SOL, I can request payment but if they choose not to pay, they are not forced to. How do you deal with rule breakers? If I tell them they have to board the pet or leave, I worry my 5 stars would fall. I feel at their mercy!
