@Lidija47 the advice given by @Sudsrung0 and @Helen744 by contacting the Australian Embassy will give you first hand and correct up to date information.

At the moment there are certain industries, proffessions and trades that need employees. It is often easier if you have a sponsor who will employ you for a certain length of time.

You need to have a certain amount of money to support yourself and health and holiday insurance to cover you while you stay with proof of evidence for immigration on arrival and on application forms - visas.

In the past we have had an exchange student from Sweden and been involved with placing exchange students with host families and we found that it was easier for Swedish students to get visas than those from other countries.

Also asking on face book expat page as @Gillian166 suggested is good advice.

At the moment if you are in the proffession of teaching, nursing and IT you should  have a greater chance of being excepted into Australia. Post Covid there is a shortsge of staff in these areas.

There is a shortage of housing in all states in Australia but sharing accommodation is available in certain areas.

@Lidija47  wow, what an offer!

Australia is a massive country, and the city "personalities" are quite different, and so is the weather!, so choosing one needs some research, and don't just rely on the word of one person who's lived in one city saying their city is "the best".

Without knowing what skills you have no one can give you much advice on employment.

You might have some luck finding a facebook group of Swedish expats and ask them for advice. 🙂

Thank you so much for you quick answer , that was a good idea you gave me. I will try to get in contact with the  swedish community as sonn as i can. Thank a lot for your help. Kind regards Lidija Manfredi

Can you work there legally?

Lydia if you want to move to Australia then like everyone else you will need a visa especially if you want to work here ,or you will only be allowed as a tourist . If you are looking for citizenship then you, as you seem to understand need to have 'aproved work ' before arriving and then go through the application process ,assuming that when you get here you dont change you mind. We are not part of the EU so it may not be as easy as you appear to think . All the best   H
