Hi everyone,
My name is Adam Nordin, and I’m a Superhost based in London, UK. I manage three Airbnb listings and have been hosting for several years. I love creating clean, thoughtfully designed spaces and ensuring guests feel genuinely welcomed — it’s always been more than just a business to me.
I’ve recently joined the Community Center after experiencing a very upsetting situation where one of my properties was vandalised by a guest. The process of navigating the aftermath — including property damage, filing a claim, and seeking support — has left me feeling frustrated and, at times, very isolated. It’s reminded me of how important it is to connect with others who truly understand the challenges we face as hosts.
I’m here to:
Looking forward to being part of the conversation and contributing wherever I can. Thank you for having me!
Warm regards,
Adam
Hi @Adam2438 ,
Welcome to the Community Center, and thank you for your heartfelt introduction.
Its truly bad to hear about the vandalism incident — that must have been incredibly disheartening, especially when you’ve poured so much care into your spaces.
Unfortunately, many of us have faced difficult moments like these, and I completely understand how isolating it can feel when the support isn’t immediate or clear.
That said, I’m glad you’ve joined this community — it really does make a difference to connect with others who “get it.”
You’ll find a lot of support, practical tips, and solidarity here. Looking forward to learning from your experiences too, especially with your thoughtful hosting approach.
Wishing you smoother stays ahead and a strong sense of community here!
Warmly,
Nandini
Sorry to hear that😔, don't be disillusioned and keep going. Can you explain exactly what has happened?
Customer smoked inside the master bedroom and I am sure they vandalised the floor with their cigs as I found two big holes on the fire resistant wooden flooring . Not only that, they refused to leave at 11am ( check out time) and left my cleaners outside the house for two hours in 38c heat. Showed all the evidence to Airbnb and it seems that they are not interested to know. For the flooring, I got flooring specialist to inspect the damaged and they can’t repair it. It’s crazy because now I have to pick up the bill for someone wrong doing. Literally we as the host are not protected at all.
Hi @Adam2438 , Welcome to the community!
Thanks for sharing your lovely introduction and am sorry to hear of your recent experience with a guest. Our community is definitely one of the best places to connect with fellow hosts for advice and support. I hope you find strength and solutions to your recent problem here!
Hi @C197 @Nandini11 , thanks for sharing such a warm welcome. Adam has shared his recent situation in this thread 👉HERE👈, could you help him and offer some advice? Thank you in advance!
@Adam2438 Looking forward to your discussion with other hosts in the other thread.
Regards,
@Adam2438 - I think as @Nandini11 has already stated, we all go through some painful things and it's very frustrating and difficult - especially when it comes at a cost.
There are quite a few posts I read that are saying similar.
No journey is smooth and I hope you will find some comfort here.
