Is the guest responsible?

Hello!

We are currently hosting 2 guests for approximately one month. They are about halfway through their stay and last night. They contacted us to let us know that the toilet was clogged and was overflowing. Upon further inspection and troubleshooting, it has been found out that the toilet was clogged. By wipes being flushed down the toilet. This is going to take some more repair. And the bathroom may be unusable for a couple days, while the repairs are being made. What is the best solution? Are the guests responsible for these costs? Or is this just something we will have to deal with? We have never had plumbing issues prior to this. And do not have any posted signs in the bathroom not to flush wipes. 

What is the best way to handle this?

Wipes should be forbidden anyway to be produced and sold.. They do not decompose and are a risk for the environment.

So they clog the drains. So at least put up a sticker (you can buy them everywhere): only toiletpaper may be flushed.

As you did not have such warning in the bathroom, i fear you can not charge the guest for the repair costs.
