Hello everyone! ๐
Welcome to the Community Center! ๐ I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands ๐ณ๐ฑ I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling๐ฒ, playing footballโฝ, and travelling๐ . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : ๐ I was born in Gujarat, India ๐ฎ๐ณ , and shifted to Toronto, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ last year! ๐ท I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. ๐ When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia ๐จ๐ด and currently living in British Columbia, Canada ๐จ๐ฆ. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance ๐) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries ๐ and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking ๐ฒ and hiking ๐.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist ๐ฟ and like to minimise my impact on the planet ๐ as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming ๐ yoga on the beach ๐งโ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! ๐
@Elisa : I was born in Italy ๐ฎ๐น and as a lover of unique experiencesโfrom exploring the streets of Rome๐ฎ๐น , Paris ๐ซ๐ท, and Toronto ๐จ๐ฆ to appreciating timeless art and cuisineโI'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain ๐ช๐ธ, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto๐จ๐ฆ this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey โ๏ธ. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports โฝ๏ธ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. ๐ฅ
@Emilie : I was born in France ๐ซ๐ท, raised in French Polynesia ๐บ and Morocco ๐ฒ๐ฆ, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. ๐ฒ
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards๐ป,
Elisa

Hey All!
I'm originally from Dallas, Texas, but I currently host an Airbnb in Kansas City, Missouri.
6 months in superhost. Always interested in others' experiences and tips.
All the best - Tim
Hello @Tim4476 ๐
Huge congratulations on the Superhost status! Six months is a solid start. ๐ช Kansas City must keep you busy! Whatโs one thing you wish youโd known before you started hosting there?
Hi, I am Andrea. I own an oceanfront condo in Nueva Gorgona (near Playa Coronado) in the Republic of Panama, and I will soon be adding my three-bedroom luxury condo in Los Sueรฑos Resort, Costa Rica, to my portfolio.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this group and learn from your experiences!
Welcome @Andrea8969 ๐
It's very exciting you are about to list another condo soon! Are there any key lessons you're taking away from your first property, when getting this new one ready?

Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya.
I am based out of Nairobi. ๐ฐ๐ช Fairly close to the UN Complex in Nairobi (10 minutes drive). I travel a bit around Africa and the occassional (twice yearly) out of Africa to other regions. I speak three languages and would welcome anyone new to Nairobi to ask any questions about the city, the people, where to stay etc. Happy Days. Say Jambo next time you see a swahili speaker.
@Inka-Stay-Ltd0 It's great to have you with us โบ๏ธ
Speaking three languages must be very handy to welcome guests and travel. You've piked my curiosity now, what does jambo mean in swahili?

Howdy from Bryan, TX - better known for our sister city College Station, home of Tx A&M University! ("Howdy" is an A&M Aggie tradition, not necessarily a Texas thing.) My husband and I (newlyweds) are Aggies and 4 of our 5 combined children are Aggies. For work, I've traveled as far as South Africa and Bangalore and spent 2 weeks in the UK with only carry-on luggage!
I've been a host for 2 years (on Evolve, which I recently left), and added my own home as a BnB in Feb this year. I'm co-hosting a third and anxious to co-host more properties. I'm burned out on marketing for high-tech start-ups and eager to apply my marketing skills to hospitality instead.
Howdy @Cindy1764, and congratulations to your husband on yourself on your wedding! ๐ A&M University seems to be prominent in your lives, is that where you both met?
I hope the transition from marketing at start-ups to hospitality has been going smoothly so far. ๐

Hi!
Iโm from Varanasiโa city full of history, culture, and spiritual energy. Iโve always loved hosting and sharing the charm of my hometown with others, which is why I started this homestay.
The space is simple, warm, and thoughtfully set up to feel like home, because I truly enjoy creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
A warm welcome to you @Nandini11! I have heard a lot of good things about Varanasi, what is one of the top activities you recommend guests do to explore the riches of your city?

Hello!
My name is Alana. I haven't strayed far from Oregon ๐ฒ where I grew up, but have traveled the world - mostly to ๐ง climb and volunteer. We're also avid whitewater boaters ๐, and in 2024 found our dream escape along the McKenzie River that we call The Cabin Patch / @thecabinpatch. It's 1.5 acres riverside, with an old 1930s Cabin and newer guest Cottage that had been neglected during COVID, and thus needed some serious TLC. We fixed up the Cottage first and have been hosting there since September, and have just finished the Cabin and we have our first guests this week!
I have a background in Hospitality and Experiential Design, so I'm deciding whether or not to put in the extra effort to build a bespoke website via Lodgify.com to market the property on multiple platforms. Would been keen to hear if anyone else has done this!
Hi @Alana243 ๐,

I've only been 9-10 countries - which doesn't seem many to most jet-setters, but when I do travel, I try to spend 3weeks-3months somewhere to really get to know it and appreciate the place and its people.
Hosting has been good. Having a location that is very remote is tricky (especially if we're trying to find cleaning coverage if we're traveling ourselves) but it's such a special place that we're happy to share it with others.
My name is Lisa and I'm a host from Maui, HI. So awesome to be able to get to know other hosts. Hope I can host some of you as well, because we're host also need a vacation :). Mahalo, Lisa
