Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Elisa @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Bhumika
Hello fellow hosts! My name is Justin Mayfield, and I host a geodesic dome in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks.
I love the outdoors and exploring new things and places. I’m a sucker for National Parks, mountains, and golf. I ran the New York City marathon, and recently finished my first ultra marathon (50k). I’ve hiked Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park, bungee jumped in Florida, and snuba dived in Hawaii. I enjoy planning vacations and creating memorable experiences for myself and others
Hi @Justin2179. Welcome to the Community ✨
Your dome home looks like a great place for glamping. We’d love to hear more about how you decided to go with a geodesic dome, what inspired you, how long it took to build, and how you chose the land.
If you’re up for it, you could create a post by ⭐clicking here ⭐ or by clicking the "Post" button up top to share your experience. We'd love to see photos of the process if you have any! I’m sure many hosts would find it fascinating and inspiring!
Thank you so much! I just created a post about my experience. Cheers!
Greetings, I live in Lexington, KY. I am an interior designer and real estate agent. I love creating beautiful functional spaces. I wanted to create a space that was above the normal living experieince of my guests. The home is located in the susdivion where I was raised until going to college. Bracktown is one of the remaining freetowns where slaves settled over 100 years ago. It is a beautiful area sourround by some of the most stunning horse farms. It's even more spcecial that I am investing in my subdivivsion.
I am looking forward to sharing, learning, and growing with this group.
Hi @Nicole3800, Welcome to the Community Center!
Would you share some of your go-to design tips for short-term rentals? I think a lot of us could learn from your approach!

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be here and connect with fellow members from around the world. I'm into gaming and tech, and lately I’ve been exploring casual games like the Orion Stars game — it’s been a fun way to unwind between work and travel.
Looking forward to learning more about all of you and your hosting stories!
I’m David, from Los Angeles. I grew up in Chile, CDMX, and Spain. My rental is in Bucerias, Nayarit — inside the beautiful bay of Puerto Vallarta. We’ve been renting it for 18+ months now and enjoying the (learning) experience and challenge of delivery a 5-star experience to our guests.
Hi @David11470,
Great to have you with us, and congratulations on your hosting journey so far - your 2 years anniversary will be here before you know it 😃
You mention it's been a learning experience, what has surprised your most?
Looking forward to seeing you around the community 🌻

Merci de jeter un oeil aux Principes du Community Center/ Please follow the Community Guidelines
There have been many lessons and surprises, and I’ll share three:
1. 32 straight five-star reviews and counting…
2. Treat your guests like you want to be treated
3. Hosting is fun!
I’m truly grateful for the team I have in place. Without them we would not have the success we have had thus far and may not even be hosting.
Hi @David11470! congratulations on your amazing streak of five-star reviews! 🎉 It’s lovely to hear how much fun you’re having 🙂 What’s one thing you do with your team to keep everyone motivated and working so well together?
As an incentive I pay a 5% bonus equal to the net room fees’ stay for every five-star review.
Hi everyone 😊,
I’m Shady Ibrahim, an Airbnb Host and Superhost since January 2019, originally from Alexandria, Egypt 🇪🇬, and currently based in Dubai, UAE 🇦🇪.
My hosting journey started quite unexpectedly — I prepared my first apartment in Alexandria to host my fiancée at the time, and after she suggested turning it into an Airbnb, I received my very first booking the same day it went live! Since then, hosting has grown into a full-time passion and business, helping property owners create unforgettable stays for guests across Egypt, the UAE, and beyond.
What I love most about hosting is the human connection — meeting people from all over the world, sharing cultures, and making travelers feel at home wherever they are. 🌍
I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing community and look forward to connecting with other hosts, learning, and sharing experiences together!
Warm regards,
Shady Ibrahim

Hi @Shady2 👋
Hi Rebecca,
Thank you so much! Yes, it’s amazing how one simple suggestion can completely change your life — hosting truly opened new doors for me and became a career I’m deeply passionate about.
Over the years, I’ve definitely come across some unusual and surprising guest requests! One that stands out was a guest who asked if I could arrange a surprise birthday setup for their partner at midnight — complete with balloons, candles, and a custom cake delivered to the apartment. It turned into a magical moment, and seeing their happiness reminded me why I love hosting so much. 🎈
How about you — have you come across any memorable or funny stories from hosts in the community?
Warm regards,
Shady Ibrahim
