Party and additional guests

Party and additional guests

Hello,

My partner and I are new Airbnb hosts and we were really excited for our first booking this past weekend of 3 people for 2 nights. It was a young couple and to make a long story short they had some friends over (3 additional total of 6 people) who stayed and had a small party, a few of them ended up throwing up on the bedding, in the bathroom sinks outside etc, there was some minor damaged due to the partying, ie small pot outside, some paint from the cabinets is damaged but nothing to serious. I am looking for advice on what to do. Should we note these things and charge them for the damage and for having to now clean the bedding with vomit on them or should we just chalk it up to hosting?

@Kyle1201 whatever you do you should do nothing until they review you. Review them (honestly) asap and then hope they review yo quickly. Once they have then you make a decision on a claim as you have 14 days.

Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 😊

Thank you for helping Kyle! Did you also use this approach before?

@Elisa luckily we never made a claim but as Airbnb doesn't deal with retaliatory reviews it is the best advice for those that do need to claim

Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 😊

Hi @Kyle1201 😊

Welcome to the Community Center!

I'm sorry about this. Have you been able to follow Mike's and Jane's suggestions?

Do you still need help with this?

If you know more people are staying then have booked you can reach out to the guests and ask those not on the booking to leave @Kyle1201  (make sure your house rules enforce that no visitors are allowed unless agreed with you in advance).

I agree with @Mike-And-Jane0  leave an honest review and put in a claim once they've left theirs - look up how making a claim on Air Cover works .

@Kyle1201

1.  They exceeded occupancy - strike 1

2.  They threw a party - strike 2

3.  They damaged property - strike 3.

Your review can be less than 5 stars for "guests who disregarded house rules, were inconsiderate and caused extra cleaning.  Would not host again".

They were garbage guests - you can request reimbursement for damages/cleaning as long as you accept a poor review in return.
