Private bookings

I heard from a host that Airbnb will suspend your account if you also book stays privately. True???

A reservation booked on Airbnb must always be managed and payed on the Airbnb platform.

But ofcourse you can also accept bookings from other sources or platforms, or rent out private.

If you mean a guest who contacts you via Airbnb and then you direct them off the platform to avoid cost then I guess they would close you down,

How can they stop you from accepting bookings from other platforms?

Also you might get returning guest who want to book direct with you,

Personally I have stopped taking direct bookings they have been the one who let you down, cancelling at last minute,

Remember you have no cover at least with airbnb you can set your cancellation to strict,

@Lisa7028 no it is not true. The only issue with filling the calendar with private bookings is that you may drop down the list of properties in the search results due to having fewer Airbnb bookings.

You might be right about that, Im not an expert but a couple of years ago I took a 3 month booking not from Airbnb, That particular property fell off the radar after that, on Airbnb, strange but it took a while to get going again.
