At least Airbnb states:
"As a result, we are providing support to the host"
(and not to the "overstay" guest)

@Emiel1 Yes, I was happy to see that. Last I heard, they are giving them until the end of the week to vacate. I don’t know who will enforce that, though.

@Pat271 @Emiel1 I suspect they are giving help to the host because it's a luxury property that has likely brought in vast amounts of service fees for Airbnb. The owners are probably in the same billionaires club as the Airbnb CEO. And it's a big public story.
Pardon my cynicism, but there are countless posts on this forum from hosts who have squatters in their homes who've refused to pay and refuse to leave and they can't even get Airbnb CS to answer their messages.
