As we all know, searching for a property as a guest has become SUPER cumbersome since the summer release. I just tried it again (trying to find my own property as well as others that I know are out there) and, if the listing I'm looking for DOES actually pull up, I am still automatically shown dates far into the future... even though there are plenty of dates open on the calendar before then. And the whole "weekend/week/month" thing makes no sense at all. As I head into my first "nearly dead" season in over 13 years of hosting, I have to ask: Is this ever getting fixed?
Couldn't agree more about what a trainwreck it's become from the guest's perspective.
I'm planning a long vacation next year across three continents over six weeks. We gave up searching on Airbnb and decided to stick with hotels. It's just way too hard.
I had a similar experience in 2018. It was pretty bad then (we ended up using hotels) but nothing like it is now. I'm amazed that guests can find anything. The Airbnb platform today is more than not user-friendly, it's actively user-repelling. It's like a masterclass in bad customer experience design.

"Actively user-repelling". Nailed it.
