Small damage to curtain

Host wanted to charge $75 to fix for a curtain that I accidentally ripped the edges while closing it. The frame is working perfectly fine. The condition of the curtain was old and subject to wear and tear. Am I entirely responsible for the replacement cost?

@Joie8  Accidents happen. If you're aware of causing damage at the time it happens, you should report it to the host, and it's also advisable to take pictures showing the condition of the damaged item at the time you checked out.

If you believe the claim was excessive, you may choose to decline it and either submit a counter offer or escalate the case to Airbnb. If you opt to escalate, a case manager will require documentation from the host and make the final decision on the claim.
