Hi @Kenneth-Denis0
If the robbery was not caused by your guest, you should file a claim with your own home or property insurance. Be prepared to provide supporting documentation, such as a police report, photos of the damage or stolen items, receipts (if available), and any other evidence your insurance company requires.
However, if you believe the robbery or theft was caused by your Airbnb guest or someone they allowed onto the property, you should immediately contact the guest through the Airbnb message thread to document the situation. You should also report the incident to Airbnb Support as soon as possible.
Gather and submit as much evidence as you can, including:
- Before and after photos of the property.
- A police incident or crime report.
- Photos or videos of the damage or missing items.
- Receipts, invoices, or proof of ownership and value for the stolen or damaged belongings.
- Any relevant security camera footage or other supporting documentation.
Once you have the necessary evidence, you can submit a reimbursement request through AirCover. Keep all communication on the Airbnb platform whenever possible, as this helps create a documented record that may support your claim during the review process.
