WHAT ADORNS THE TOP OF YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE?.......

Back 42 years ago as well as having a large live decorated tree we had a small artificial Christmas  tree that would reappear each Christmas and sat on a sideboard in the lounge. Each year now it sits in the Airbnb cottage. On top of that small tree was of course ....... a star!

This particular year our youngest daughter Kate was 5 years old, the tree came out from its regular hibernation spot, but alas........not the star! The star had mysteriously vanished. 

I asked Kate if she had another star in amongst her toys that we could put on top of the tree.

She said to me ........"Dad, stars are just in the sky but I have got a nurse, when I grow up I want to be a nurse, can we put the nurse on the Christmas tree"!

So for the last 42 years our Christmas tree has had a nurse on the top of it.

And guess what Kate grew up to be??
