Twice In One Week

We've been hosting for two years and have been very successful in our small town.  We've experienced the following twice in one week.  Someone requests to book for a week 3-4 months in the future.  When we open the request, they ask if we're open on the current night.  We usually are not and say so.  Then they never come back regarding the longer stay in the future.  Anyone else experience this?

These are booking requests or just inquiries, @Ken-And-Denise0 ? 

I get inquiries like that all the time. I answer and they go away and that's that. They don't really want the future date. They have to input something in order to be able to message you. The system won't allow a chat with a host unless dates are attached, and the inquiring guest just picks future dates at random for that.

If these are booking requests, you could ask them to withdraw the request so their credit card is not charged for the future date. You don't want too many declines on your record. Save those for when you really need them.
