Very Suspicious Instant Booking

Hello,
I am based in the UK and  I have received an instant booking from a new profile, which on closer inspection looks like is  from Spain. With current Government Restrictions, everyone arriving from Spain needs to quarantine for 14 days The  person only reserved for 3 nights. We have asked the customer for some extra details, but he does not reply! I've tried to call the Spanish number provided, but they hung up! if he doesn't supply all additional information by the end of the day am I ok  to cancel the booking as it is all very strange, including the name and the profile picture?

I  just want to make sure I am  doing the right thing and avoid any penalties. I have contacted airbnb but it say they will reply in the next 72 hours.

Is anyone  has any suggestions?

@Yanica0

It can not be cancelled under Covid-19 terms, as "quarantines" seem to be excluded:

So maybe first wait for reply from Airbnb, i hope you get one from CS  within 72-hours....

If this person books 3 nights, but need to do 14 days quarantine, it seems to me there is a contradiction here. I think Airbnb should cancel this reservation asap (penalty free).

Best regards,

Emiel

@Yanica0 I am fairly confident that, in this case, it is the guest who will be breaking the law and not you as the host.

I would message the guest and

1)Check they are coming direct from Spain to your place - They may already be in the country

2) If they are coming direct ask them to cancel the booking as you would 'not want them to be fined by the local police for breaking the quarantine laws'

Thank you for your suggestions! I've already reported to airbnb and I have requested the customer to send us their traveling details, ID etc as his account is very suspicious as well. The name does not reflect the profile picture and his phone number does not work. I am not planning to risk it and most likely will be canceling the booking if I do not get a response in the next 24 hours as the booking is for next week.

Hopefully airbnb will help me as well.
