Hi everyone 👋
It’s great to read all the conversations in the community and see how each host brings a different experience and approach to hosting. Many of these hosting styles are shaped by personal or professional experiences from the past.
Some hosts began hosting after working in the hospitality industry, while others were inspired after having an amazing experience as a guest. Some even host experiences based on their personal talents and passions.
That got me thinking: what has shaped your hosting style? What experiences or people have influenced the way you host today?

@Paula , thank you so much for your kind words — I really appreciate it.
If I’m honest, there’s no magic formula behind it. My only “strategy” has been being a bit obsessive about getting things right. I’ve always been like that, very focused on service and on how people experience things. Even with something as simple as a family meal, I care about every detail: everything has to be spot on, people need to feel comfortable, properly welcomed… and leave with a great impression.
I apply that same mindset to everything, my work, my family, this project. I don’t like doing things halfway, and I wouldn’t want anyone to feel that I did. Whatever I take on, I give it 100%. I’m quite competitive, even with myself, and yes… I’m a bad loser, but in the right way.
I always joke that if I’d been a waiter, I’d probably be a millionaire just from tips. I genuinely enjoy making people feel good, comfortable, at ease. And there’s something hard to put into words: that feeling when a guest messages you saying they felt special… because the truth is, they are. Every single guest is special, and I do my best to make sure they feel it in every detail.
I’d be more than happy for you to mention me anytime, genuinely, I’d love to help anyone in the community if I can. Very happy to be part of it.
Regards,
Tommy

Bonjour @Paula merci pour ce thème de discussion.
C'est d'aller au delà du simple hébergement pour créer une immersion culturelle et émotionnelle guidé par le sens inné de l'hospitalité chaleureuse et l'esprit de la communauté.

Hello @Nasro3, what an interesting approach 😊 thanks so much for sharing!
How do you offer a cultural immersion? Do you provide any specific experiences, or is it more about how you decorate your property?
Looking forward to learning from your experience.
For me, my hosting style is shaped by being both a host and a traveler. I pay attention to the little things that make a stay feel easy and taken care of—clear communication, a clean and well-prepared space, and anticipating what guests might need before they ask.
I also come from a healthcare background, so creating a calm, safe, and stress-free environment is big for me. People are often traveling to relax, reset, or celebrate something, and I try to honor that experience.
Over time, I’ve learned that it’s not just about providing a place to stay—it’s about how people feel while they’re there.
