Writing a negative review

I have a guest that just left. after they left he writes that the lock latch on the storage cabinet was broken when they arrived, but he just got around to mentioning it. my cleaning crew says it was broken be the guest and a chair is also damaged. do i write a review speaking to these things, as well as filing a claim or just suck it up and replace the damaged items??

I write this tongue in cheek because i already know that I'll just suck it up and write no review.

Anyone's thoughts...

@Steve3085  Write no review? That's a disservice to other hosts. A review system is pointless if everyone only leaves nice, positive reviews or no review at all.

"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is good advice when it comes to not mentioning to your wife that she's gaining weight, but the Airbnb reviews are meant to inform honestly.

No, I wouldn't try to claim for minor breakage. Guest might have been hard on things, but unless it looks like he smashed the chair against the wall on purpose, sounds like what folks call normal wear and tear. But I would mention it in a review (don't think of reviews as positive or negative- think of them as honest).

Mention anything positive about the guest, if there was anything, and just say that a couple of damaged items were found after check-out.
