guest card declining when booking
I am new to air BnB, when guests are booking my listing, they are getting the error message 'Looks like your bank declined the payment. Contact them to find out more, or try a different payment method. Please is this because I haven't updated a setting ?

@Emmanuel932 Nope, that has nothing to do with your settings. This transaction is solely between the guests and Airbnb. All you can do is reiterate the advice: contact their bank, or try a different payment method.
If the guest proposes booking outside of Airbnb, tell them firmly that this is against the rules of the platform.

Many credit card companies have automated systems designed to prevent fraud.
If a cardholder makes an unusual charge, such as booking an expensive stay with Airbnb, the card may be declined until the transaction is verified.
I have had this happen several times when traveling to foreign countries. It is very annoying, particularly if the bank insists that I call them when that is impossible.
The best thing the customer can do is get a different credit card.
