pay less up front

I am very disappointed that the pay less up front option is no longer available. I've tried talking with airbnb and their guidance has not helped solve the situation. The host has even tried and the information that they have given him is not working on my end as well. Does anyone know why it isn't available anymore?

 It was never actually available across the board, as far as I'm aware. The wording I read on it said it was offered on some bookings, at Airbnb's discretion. 

And I also think it isn't available if your check-in date is a short time away. Could this be the case?

Because Airbnb need as much cash as they can possibly get in their pre-IPO accounts right now, as quick as they can get it.
