$20k Payout hold

$20k Payout hold

Looking for advice or escalation help regarding Airbnb payout issues.

I currently have nearly $20,000 in payouts on hold since April 9th. I first contacted Airbnb on April 27th and immediately submitted all requested business verification and documentation.

Since then, I’ve followed up repeatedly on May 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15, 18, 22, and again today. I’ve consistently been told the issue has been escalated to a specialized team, but I still have no timeline, explanation, or meaningful update.

At this point, I’m simply asking Airbnb for:

• Confirmation this case is actively assigned

• The exact reason the payouts remain on hold

• Whether any additional documentation is needed

• A clear timeline for releasing the funds

This delay is significantly impacting my business operations. I’ve fully complied with every request and made repeated good-faith efforts to resolve this through support.

I’m hoping someone from Airbnb Community Support or an Airbnb team member may be able to help provide guidance or help escalate this matter further.

Has anyone experienced payout holds lasting this long? If so, what helped get it resolved?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Have a browse here in the community centre and you will find 1,000's of complaints about Airbnb Hosts not been paid, nor advised in advance the reasons their "monies owed" to them have not been paid when we have acted in Good Faith

Yet Airbnb continue to take "Service Fees" and there contracted Customer services agents are merely robotics and not applying any Logic, nor Airbnb's own policies.

With regards to there Customer services it's problematic world wide with Business Process outsourcing that's spiraled out of control with computerised Software programs and systems and an utter failing of society.

These problems have been going on for a vast number of years now and those profiting out of their own failures and incompetencies should be held to account who are providing the "coding + software programs" because they are not adhering to Rule of Law.

As an aside, did you see there's been a number of arrests and pending prosecutions for the ripping off of elderly American authors wanting to get their works published?

Sorry we can't provide more positivity but don't rely on Airbnb's systems.

You may like to meanwhile "pause" your listing until this is resolved as they drag there heals and don't care, unfortunately.

I am experiencing a very similar situation with Airbnb right now. My payouts are also being affected by a KYC/verification issue.

I completed all the information Airbnb requested as soon as I was notified. Airbnb Support has even acknowledged that the information was updated but is not reflecting on their end. I was repeatedly sent an action card to upload an ID, but when I follow it, the system already shows “ID Uploaded” with no option to upload it again.

My case has now been referred to the Compliance Team, but I am still waiting for a concrete update or resolution.

I completely understand the need for KYC verification, but when hosts have complied with everything requested, we should not be financially affected for weeks because of a technical or internal processing issue.

As a small accommodation business, every day without our payouts matters. I hope an Airbnb Community Manager can help bring attention to this case and get them to the appropriate KYC/Payments team.

Hi Megan, I am currently going through the same situation. Airbnb has to date been holding over $160K in payouts and I cannot get a hold of this "specialized team" to get an update or a reason for this hold.  If you find answers or resolution from Airbnb, please let me know. Thanks!

At the moment, we still haven’t received any answers or updates. We’re currently looking into pursuing this through small claims court.

Hi Meagan, Have you been able to recover your funds? We are going through this right now. After ten years of hosting and being super hosts, all of a sudden our payouts are on hold. Meanwhile I am still cleaning the house making beds and paying the bills. Extremely frustrating, and I feel like I am getting scammed. Any updates as to how you got this resolved would be really helpful!

Dave, have you been able to recover your funds? Going through this as well and looking for light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi! We finally got our money! I had given them my tax information multiple times, but nothing was getting resolved. I finally went to several of Airbnb’s Twitter accounts and started calling them out for holding our money and not helping us. Someone from the Airbnb Help Twitter page eventually reached out, and that’s what finally got things moving. It’s sad that you have to blast them on social media just to get help, but thankfully, it worked!

same as mine! Airbnb doesn't know what they are doing at all!
