AI Chatbots That Actually Sound Like You – My Experience as a Host
Hi everyone! I’m a host in Santorini with many years of experience, and like many of you, I used to get overwhelmed with repetitive guest questions — especially during check-in days.
I was never a fan of robotic bots, so I decided to create my own AI concierge chatbots for my listings — designed to answer in a warm, friendly, and personal tone, just like I would.
They’ve helped me so much: guests get instant answers (even in their language!), and some even mention the chatbot in their reviews because they enjoyed using it. It’s been a huge time-saver and has really improved communication overall.
Since then, I’ve continued building more of these for other properties as well — always with a focus on guest experience and personality. Just wanted to share in case others are exploring the same path!

Hi @Olga207
I would love it if you could share more details about how you are setting up and using AI Chatbots. I am actually going to be attending a 4-day AI conference starting tomorrow through my work and will hopefully expand my knowledge of AI and its tools for my work and possibly for my hosting. Please share!

Hi David!
Great to hear you're diving into AI at the conference! My chatbots are basically personalized digital concierges—they handle repetitive guest questions (check-in details, Wi-Fi, local tips, etc.) instantly and in the guest's language, always in a warm, friendly style that reflects my own hosting personality. Guests use them via a simple link or QR code—no complicated setups.
The key for me was training the bots from my own experience as a host, so interactions feel authentic rather than robotic. It's significantly reduced my daily workload and improved guest satisfaction.
Feel free to reach out after your conference if you have more questions or want tips on creating something similar!

Hi @Olga207
This is interesting but unfortunately a number of properties you manage are attracting what Airbnb sees as low reviews and ratings.
would you not be better focussing on what is leading to this lower ratings and addressing these for hosts who's properties you manage?
issues like hot water and air conditioning not working and problems with beds and furnishings which are leading to two and three star reviews maybe a better focus for you.
Hi Helen,
Thanks for taking the time to dig into my profile and reviews — clearly, something about my work piqued your interest.
Just to clarify, I’m a virtual assistant for Airbnb hosts, working remotely behind a screen. I don’t control plumbing, air conditioning, or furniture. What I do is manage communication, help with listings, and build AI concierge chatbots that reflect each host’s personality and improve the guest experience.
If you actually read the reviews, you’ll see my name mentioned more than once — because I am involved, and I care.
It’s easy to criticize what you can’t (or won’t) create.
Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me.
Anyway, if you ever need help streamlining communication or automating guest support, I’d be happy to assist. Otherwise, I wish you fewer complaints — and a touch more joy in your days.
Olga
Not at all.
I'm a host and cohost of ten years with superhost and guest favourite status and solid five star reviews.
I also head up marketing for national and international organisations as my day job @Olga207
No need to be rude.
I replied to you on the basis that you claimed in your opening post that you were the host for the listings . You said 'I am a host with many years experience',
now you say this isn't the case and you are actually a virtual assistant.
happy for you to check my listings you will see solid five star ratings across the properties I manage.
I can't imagine a situation where I would ever want to pay for remote hosting support .
what do you feel I would have to feel sour grapes over.
Hi Helen,
Thanks for clarifying your background. Just to be precise: I’m both a longtime Airbnb host and the creator of digital concierge chatbots. I still host properties directly in Santorini and I also support other hosts remotely — two separate but complementary roles.
My original post was about the AI tools I’ve developed, not a job application. You’re obviously doing great with your properties, so this service may not be for you — and that’s absolutely fine.
As for the tone of your comments — no idea what triggered such hostility, but I suggest you take a deep breath. Life’s short. Try enjoying it.
Wishing you fewer complaints and more peace.
Olga
Fortunately I haven't had any complaints about any listing in ten years of hosting , apart from from location, which unfortunately hosts can't control but thanks for your concern @Olga207
@Olga207. Hi Olga, I figure the more I get used to AI doing my tasks, the less prepared i will be in a crisis where tech cant help.
I just came back from a short trip where I drove a hire car. Not only did it try and tell me how to park, who was coming up too close but it also tried to take over the steering wheel on several occasions when it thought it knew the road markings better than I did!
So extrapolating that onto my hosting duties I'd be concerned that I'd easily forget how to talk to each and every guest as an individual, both in person and online. I cant imagine how complex your decision tree would be if it can anticipate all those responses in AI.
All the best.
@Frances3408
Thank you so much for your comment, Frances – I completely understand what you mean and I actually agree with you. My chatbots were not created to replace human interaction, but simply to help with very specific and repetitive tasks.
From experience, I know that many guests don’t read the guides or printed info I leave in the property, but instead want answers right when they need them. So the bot handles things like “What’s the Wi-Fi code?”, “Where do I throw the trash?”, “How does the AC work?” — always in the guest’s own language and in a fun, friendly way.
Here in Santorini we welcome people from all over the world, and being able to give them instant info in their own language makes a huge difference. For anything important or personal, the bot simply gives my number so they can contact me directly.
I don’t believe tech should replace hosts — but I do believe it can support us. Just like Wi-Fi, GPS, or online check-in, AI is simply another tool. It’s not good or bad on its own. It all depends on how we use it.
Warm wishes from Santorini,
Olga
