AirBnB changed a final payment due to changing tax situation, then charged guest full amount because the reservation was changed. This occurred months in advance of their stay. The guest did not make the reservation change and is now stuck with the full amount of the rental. Appears to be unfair acceleration of payment for guest. Any suggested solutions? AirBnB won't respond to chat request.
Go on twitter, if you have any friends or family who have lots of followers enlist them. Public shaming may be your only option. ABB is hemorrhaging $ and seems to be squeezing guests after nobly returning hosting fees and patting their backs for doing so, there are several posts here from concerned hosts who are unhappy about how their potential guests were treated, wise & kind hosts I might add as shabby behavior is going to be remembered when the industry recovers.
