Airbnb iOS app wont translate messages

I can't get my Airbnb app (latest version of app on the latest version of iOS) to translate messages from foreign guests. I tap "Translate to English", the screen flashes, and nothing happens. The messages are still in the original language. The feature works fine on my computer and on my wife (cohost's) Airbnb app. I've tried deleting the app from my phone and reinstalling it but it's still doing the same thing. Any suggestions?

This is happening to me also. I messaged Airbnb and they said the forwarded the issue to the IT department. I’m picturing the tall Irish guy from the “IT Crowd” picking up the call and hanging up immediately. Lol. I’m still waiting for it to be fixed.

Did this get fixed for you? I just started having the same issue.

Same issue on my Iphone App as well. Transalation works on Desktop. Not in the phone

Sorry to hear that you're having issues. Would you be able to try these troubleshooting steps and let me know if the problem persists? 

 

  • Log out (on all affected devices/browsers)
  • Close all browser windows/tabs (on all affected devices/browsers)
  • Open ONE new window (on all affected devices/browsers)
  • Clear cache and cookies and browser history (on all affected devices/browsers)
  • Delete & re-install app (if applicable)
  • Log in with email associated with your Airbnb account

Hi @Rebecca , I tried logging out of my Iphone app, unsinatalled and then  installed again. But the issue still persists. The chat messages are not getting translated to English on my phone. However, it is working on Desktop login.

It’s just in the iPhone app.

 

i have logged out. Uninstalled reinstalled etc.

 

works fine on my wife’s phone and on the laptop.
