Firstly I am not a new host, and have been a very happy host on and off since about 2019. I have never had an issues with airbnb prior with payouts and always had positive things to say about their customer service. But folks, what is going on with airbnb?
My husband and I started a new listing in December with his account being the principal host and me co-hosting. We have yet to receive a payout from our first two guests, one being nearly a week and a half late. What has been really nervous is how many threads I am seeing in this community about Airbnb not issues payouts for months. This has never happened to me before. We have called, messaged every day since the payment became late and the folks we are talking from Airbnb either have no idea how to answer or give us a different answer each time.
first it was an issue with our payout settings, then our bank, then paypal. Now is an internal 'glitch' and the engineers are 'working on it". They insisted that they only needed 24 hours to have a response, and we are now a day later with them still have no new information.
With virtually pennies in our account completely dependant on this income to recoup the costs of starting this rental in the first place, we are now essentially working for airbnb without pay. I will continue to message them and call them everyday, but this is ridiculous.
What should we do?
