Airlock Issue - I cannot add a payout method to my account

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice or insights from other hosts who may have faced this issue.

My Airbnb host account has been airlocked for several weeks, which means I’m currently unable to add or edit any payout methods. As a result, I can’t receive my payouts. I reached out to Airbnb Support, and they confirmed the case has been escalated to their engineering team for resolution. However, I was told there’s no estimated timeline for when this will be fixed.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Completed all identity and tax verification steps

  • Contacted Community Support multiple times (they said the issue requires technical investigation)

  • Considered adding a co-host to receive payouts in the interim, but I’m unsure if that would work given my account is still under airlock

At this point, I just want to know if any other hosts have:

  1. Experienced a similar “payout airlock” issue recently

  2. Found any workaround that allowed payouts to resume (manual release, co-host setup, etc.)

  3. Received any timeline or fix from Airbnb engineering

This has put a strain on ongoing reservations, and I’d really appreciate hearing how others handled similar payout freezes.

A bit confused because you are showing a Co Host?

 

Might want to verify with your Co Host if there are any issues with their identity verification as sometimes that is the reason for the airlock.

 

Is your listing under a business name/entity or your name as an individual?

My business is under a business entity.

 

I am a host for 4 apartments and a co-host on one apartment.

 

My co host does not have this issue on their account.

 

Please let me know if you have any experience with resolving this issue

I do not have experience with resolving Airlock.

 

Hosts I work with have had issues with Business Entities and passing Airbnb's convoluted KYC system. There could be issues with 3 different areas:

 

1. KYC (Know Your Customer) - has Airbnb said they require any addl documentaion?

2. Payouts - Your bank account name must match your business name exactly

3. Taxes -  Did you get notified by Airbnb that they were able to verify your Tax ID (EIN or SSN for sole proprietor)?

Thanks for the response.

 

Airbnb has not reached out reagrding additional documentation. I have spoken to the airbnb support team and they mention everything on my account is fine.

 

My bank account and my business name match.

 

My business is an LLC. Airbnb were able to verify my EIN.

 

Please let me know if you think I should try something else.

Is the LLC entity/structure a partnership, corporation, or are you the sole owner/beneficiary?

 

There is a place to indicate a trade name on the KYC online form - did you check that and list your trade name?

 

Your post is maybe the 3rd or 4th I have seen on the CC mentioning "Airlock" and suspended payouts for no apparent reason? Here are several more threads:

I am having issues with adding a payout method to my account. I deleted my bank account and cannot add it back.

 

Please do you have any experience with this? I have reached out to customer support and have not received a response.
