Hello, I would like to share an experience I had at my property. A guest booked a stay, and after they checked out, I learned from my neighbors that they had used the place for a hook-up/rendezvous without telling me anything. I am currently dealing with the neighbors and the authorities regarding this issue. I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. Best regards,

@Yanis75 . Now that its been reported to local authorities you need to find out what local laws may have been broken. Then if valid, implement ways to avoid it happening again. Was this a one night reservation for a single, but a visitor arrived?. Or were there multiple non booking visitors throughout the night? Was excessive noise part of the complaint? Damage to neighbours property?
You may need external cameras so you can try and see the trouble before your neighbour, who will be even more vigilant now.
Lastly, I suggest you use Host Circle to communicate sensitive guest situations in future and for seeking advice from fellow hosts.

Hello @Yanis75, I'm very sorry to hear about this. As a first step, I recommend contacting the Support team. They can help you understand the situation and advise you on the best way to approach it.
Please keep us posted.
Hi Paula
I contacted support, but they told me it isn't covered by Airbnb's AirCover and that they don't have a solution for it.
I’m a little confused. First, how does your neighbor know this was a hookup/rendezvous? And second, why would it matter? If they were two consenting adults, I’m not sure what the problem is here. Unless they violated your house rules or left the place a mess, there doesn’t seem to be a reason to be involved in what the purpose of your guests were for reserving your place. Or are you saying that this was illegal activity…such as prostitution? I’m not trying to be mean, I’m truly trying to understand what happened to cause you to get Airbnb support involved in the situation. Can you give us more details about what happened?
En Algerie il faut un livre de famille pour réservé déjà c’est la lois en plus il y a pas que le voisin il y avais aussi une victime dans cette histoire et c’est elle qui a porter plainte
qu’on est loin du problème en peux dire se qu’on veux

In Algeria, you need a family register to make a reservation; it's the law. Besides, it wasn't just the neighbor involved; there was also a victim in this story, and she's the one who filed the complaint.
We're far from the problem, we can say what we want

The traveler stayed for several days and received several clients; there was a theft at the client's home, and a complaint was filed against my apartment because the victim said we were complicit.
I should specify that this is in Algeria.
Sounds like you need to have outside cameras so you ensure only those who have booked are using your listing @Yanis75
Do you also confirm local laws with guests when they book and have you added them to your house rules ?
Bonjour

Good morning
Yes, of course, the house rules are clearly displayed in the apartment, and thank you for the advice about the cameras; I'm working on installing them.
