The most recent booking I've had, I should have received 461.72 euros from Airbnb. They sent this quantity my way, however, the local bank took some small provisions, and the international bank that they used took as much as 27 euros. This is new to me, as I would always get about the same amount that I should have received from Airbnb. Can anyone tell me why this is the case, and if anything can be done to avoid it?
Montenegro is not in the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) as not being part of the Eurozone (although Euro is the local currency). Transferring international money via IBAN is not free of costs (assuming you have an IBAN account in Euro's). But 27 Euro seems to me very high, as it still a normal IBAN transaction, which useally (depending on the amount) should be maximum 10 Euro (as found in my countries banking info for transactions to Montenegro) + local bank 3,50 Euro.
