Hi Friends - I have been hosting a successful Airbnb space on the ground floor of my personal residence since 2021. I have earned Superhost for four years running and am interested in becoming a co-host for other properties in my area but when I fill out the application form it tells me I don't qualify. Hmmm. Can anyone let me know how I can go about becoming a co-host?
Hi @Kristi2316,
Best,
Alex
You don't need to be on the cohosting platform on Airbnb to offer cohosting services . @Kristi2316
you can offer services directly by marketing your cohosting business to hosts you see as your target market .
why did Airbnb say you didn't qualify when you checked with them. Perhaps they have enough cohosts signed up in your location if you meet the other criteria.
@Kristi2316 That's great that you've already built such a strong hosting record.. that experience is exactly what most property owners look for in a co-host. Airbnb's own co-host application system can be limited, especially if you're trying to join their “Co-host Marketplace,” which isn't always accepting new co-hosts in all areas.
The best way forward is to connect directly with local hosts. You can go to local Facebook groups for Airbnb and reach out to hosts there, you can also advertise your services to other Facebook or community groups for Denver hosts, or even on sites like BiggerPockets where short-term-rental owners look for help.
You already have the credibility as a long-time Superhost.. you just need to market yourself outside Airbnb's built-in system to find your first co-hosting partnership.
