Defamatory review

Defamatory review

I formally dispute Airbnb's decision to continue publishing the review submitted by the guest. Following two rejections of my requests for removal, I believe those decisions were made in error and respectfully request that Airbnb's Legal Department conduct an independent review. The review contains an objectively false factual allegation that my property has indoor surveillance cameras. This is untrue. The property contains no indoor surveillance devices. The only security cameras are exterior cameras, fully disclosed in the Airbnb listing in accordance with Airbnb's policies, and they exist solely for the safety and security of the villa, its guests, and the property. The review was posted only after the guest was asked to pay the mandatory resort fee,. The guest was also confronted after removing items from the villa without authorization, conduct captured by the disclosed exterior security cameras. These facts strongly indicate that the review was retaliatory rather than a genuine account of the stay. The review contains objectively false statements of fact which, in my view, constitute defamatory statements under the applicable law. These statements have caused, and continue to cause, significant reputational and commercial harm by misrepresenting my property and deterring prospective guests. I respectfully request that Airbnb's Legal Department reconsider this matter, review the evidence already submitted, and provide the legal and policy basis for maintaining this review under Airbnb's Review Policy. Sincerely,

@Karla911 Truth has never been a requirement in Airbnb's review removal policy I am afraid.

Do you have any suggestions? I am considering to send them a legal request.
