GST for a Company

Hi all, question for all you out there.

as a AirBnB Host I am:

  1. Running it thru my Ltd Company which operates in a completely different field, and is over the $30K threshold.
  2. I know AirBnB charges taxes to the Guests
  3. Wanting to know,
  4. On MY NET, do I deduct the GST and submit to CRA
  5. ie NET $100 + $25 cleaning fee = $125, which translates into Company income
  6. ALL Income derived from Sales needs a GST value added
  7. DO i submit to CRA the possible inherent tax of $5.95 ?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, as AirBnB does not really tell you the answer, only that they charge and submit on your behalf.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Peter-R1, welcome to our Community.

What a beautiful property you have. I go to Surrey at least twice a week, but only as far as Surrey Central Station. I hope we have a few more sunny days ☀️.

I'm reaching out to some fellow Canadian Hosts to see if they'd like to share their insights on this topic.

I believe this question is for an accountant, especially since you are going through a company account.

I have asked but they are not a specific AirBnB accountant. It is too bad AirBnB doesn't not have a drop menu showing taxes, like a Folio from a Hotel/Motel.

I did contact ABB support and they gave me the GST I paid on an AirBnB for my Company needs. When you get over 30 days it is easy to calculate the GST.

I wonder if there is a ABB support Company who would have the proper  calculation template.
