Do you provide a golf cart/beach chairs/surfboards with your listing? Airbnb will not give a straight answer about liability coverage for golf carts. Host protection insurance clearly states it does not cover 'auto' accidents, but no mention of golf carts.
We live in a small beach community and many rental properties out here provide a golf cart for guests to use to get to the beach areas. We offer this at no additional charge to the guests.
I have considered adding an additional Docu-sign waiver to the check-in for an additional layer of liability coverage. Regardless I would appreciate any information from the group or additional insights you may have regarding how to best protect myself from liability in this case.
Thank you!
Found a work around for the waiver and license. You can add a lockbox to the home that contains the golfcart key and when they arrive have them sign waiver and take pic of license and proof of insurance and send to you. Once they have done that you can give them code to lockbox. If you don't want to use Docu-sign.
Best idea yet. Thank you.
Yes, you need a separate golf cart insurance policy as well as a signed release of liability signed from guests. Home owners insurance won't cover it if the golf cart accident was not on the insured property. Here is mine:
GOLF CART WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING
In consideration of being permitted to use a golf cart on the property of Kiva Dunes & 7190 Blue Heron Cove, I, the undersigned, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, & next of kin, hereby acknowledge & agree as follows:
I have read and understand the foregoing waiver and release of liability and agree to its terms.

Does anyone know of any insurance carriers that will cover allowing guests for Airbnb hosts that want to rent out their "street legal golf carts"? I have one in Ocean View, DE and my carrier has my family insured but I am striking out with him and others. I was curious nationally if anyone is doing this or is it a no-go for any carts that are street legal vs. just ones that go inside communities but can't go on the road?
