Guest payment taken AND pending

A guest who is due to stay in August has contacted me asking why his credit card statement shows a full payment to Airbnb on 8th May but is also showing an additional pending charge of the same amount.

Can anyone clarify what this is about please?

@Kate1899 The guest should contact Airbnb with questions about payment, since Airbnb handles the entire process, and hosts don’t even receive payout until at least 24 hours post checkin.

@Colleen253  Thank you for the reply - the pending payment has now gone from the guest's credit card statement!  Strange!
