Guests payment Options?

I have had 2 guests on separate requests, ask if they can pay "the $189.00 amount" now and pay the balance upon check-in.   I thought that guests are required to pay in full to confirm a reservation, right?   I just referred them to contact AirBnb since hosts do not deal with payments directly.  I just wanted to see if I am missing something -- since they both mentioned a $189 payment (?)  Thanks in advance for any info.  : D

@Tami254  Airbnb offers a "pay less upfront" option to some guests on some bookings. They pay approx. half when they book and the other half is automatically charged about a week before check-in (not when they check in).

You were correct to tell them to contact Airbnb, as the host has nothing to do with this option. Airbnb either offers it to them or not.

@Tami254  P.S. Check your listing- it is showing that all the beds, for 9 people, are in Bedroom One, plus more beds in the other bedrooms.
