Host Referral Incentive a Joke

I have now helped two friends set-up Airbnbs. Both times and for different reasons, I have been denied the money. If anyone is moving forward on holding them to account, count me in!!!

Customer Service did nothing but give excuses as to why the referrals don’t meet their criteria. It’s a legitimate scam.

That's nothing new. I have been referring hosts for years and have never received anything. After the first couple of attempts I just gave up. But I helped a lot of hosts sign up and get started.

Admittedly, I haven't referred a host in about 6 years. In the early days, there were lots of new hosts eager to sign up, but the "reward" for host referral was paltry: 50€ if I recall. Not worth pursuing. I tried, but they refused.

In the past 5 years or so, we have become saturated  ... Few new hosts (besides they stopped issuing licences a couple of years ago) Airbnb started offering a lot more for referrals... 100, 200, 500... But I've never heard of them paying that.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. It's hardly worth the fight. And it could backfire on you if you become too aggressive about it.

Good luck and happy hosting.
