Hosting in Alsace, France
Hi all,
Me and my wife fell in love with Alsace a few years ago when we first visited the region, and after a lot of thought and waiting we decided to look for property over there and start an Airbnb.
I've searched on the internet for regulations and specific things related to hosting in France, but I thought it's better to ask here and receive 1st hand advice.
The locations are are interested in are the villages in Colmar area.
In conclusion, I'd be really happy and grateful if an Airbnb owner could briefly answer my questions below:
- Do you have to register your place with the local municipality and get some kind of license?
- How do you report your income to the municipality/fiscal authority?
- How much (in percentage) do you have to pay income taxes for hosting?
- Are there any other restrictions that I have to be aware of?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Mihai

1. I presume you would ask at the local Maire office
2. As question 1
3. this is one to ask your accountant - surely it depends on your personal circumstances and also tax laws Romania/France
4. you would need to check with the government for the Alsace area
airbnb has information on its website on hosting in various categories countries o. Its website so worth having a look at their content for France
