How I keep my space so guest will always want to come back!

Great Day Everyone!

One of the things guests often mention in their reviews is how clean, fresh, and inviting my space feels the moment they walk in. I take pride in keeping everything spotless and adding thoughtful touches that make a difference—like a light, pleasant scent that welcomes them and a special treat waiting in the unit to kick off their stay.

I also make sure guests know they can reach me easily by providing my contact information upfront and responding quickly to any questions or needs. My goal is to create a stay that feels effortless, comfortable, and cared for from beginning to end. It’s those little details—and genuine hospitality—that keep guests coming back whenever they’re ready!

Hi @Monique1234 😊

Thank you for sharing this here!

Are you handling the cleaning yourself, or does someone help you?

I'm tagging a few hosts to hear about their experience with this: @Leigh625@Cheri354@Bronwyn100@Guy991@Jamie600@Karen1@Maria22471 and @Ranveer1.

In nine years of hosting I've only had a few guests a year who come back two times or mine so this isn't really a priority for me to want to have guests come back @Monique1234

Glad to hear your approach is working for you .

Hi @Monique1234
Love this! You're totally right – the small touches and that feeling of genuine care really do make all the difference. A fresh scent and welcome treat set such a great tone right from the start.

I've also been trying to make the whole experience feel smoother for guests – from check-in info to local recommendations – and found that having everything in one place helps a ton. I started using a simple tool I put together called Hostflow (hostflow.co), where I share things like house rules, Wi-Fi, local tips, and extras guests can book ahead of time. It's been a big help for both sides.

Thanks for sharing – super inspiring to read how other hosts go the extra mile!

Hello @Monique1234 and @Elisa ,

Indeed, genuine hospitality is what brings guests back. Our place is rustic, so it is certainly not the shiny property itself that is doing it.

Returning guests are one of the key signs of success in most businesses, and they come with several added benefits. It is heartwarming when guests cannot get enough of something you have created. It also builds a stronger connection between host and guest, and from a practical point of view, hosting someone who is already familiar with the space is easier, less costly, and requires less effort.

Look at the air travel industry, which is another product in the hospitality market. Airlines invest heavily in building loyalty programs because they know the long-term value of returning customers.

We have a very high percentage of returning guests and extended stays. Unfortunately, Airbnb’s metric does not seem to reflect this. It still shows 0.00 percent on our profile.

I really hope the algorithm gives proper weight to this factor because in my opinion, it is one of the most meaningful ways to evaluate a listing.

Hi everyone! 😊
One of the things I focus on is creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. Here are a few things that really make a difference for my guests:

  1. Cleanliness is everything – I make sure the space is spotless, with fresh linens, a clean bathroom, and zero clutter.

  2. Personal touches – A handwritten welcome note, some local snacks, or even just fresh flowers can leave a lasting impression.

  3. Thoughtful amenities – I try to think of what I’d want if I were a guest: good Wi-Fi, toiletries, extra towels, coffee/tea, and sometimes even a Netflix login.

  4. Clear communication – Quick and friendly responses go a long way. I make sure to be available but not intrusive.

  5. Local tips – I leave a little guidebook with my favorite nearby restaurants, hidden gems, and things to do. Guests love that!
