Insurance coverage for longer term stays

Insurance coverage for longer term stays

Hello,

We currently have Proper insurance, which I recently learned covers only up to 28 day stays. Does anyone have information on companies that cover longer stays? So far I've had no luck finding one.

Thanks!

Hi there @Tokunbo0 ,
It’s great that you’re looking into the right coverage for longer stays. While Proper Insurance is excellent for short-term rentals, you're right that their policies typically cover stays up to 28 days. For longer stays, you’ll need a policy designed for mid-term or long-term rentals.
Here are a few options you might want to consider:
1. Steadily Insurance: They offer policies tailored for landlords, including coverage for longer-term stays. It’s worth checking if they provide coverage in your area.
2. CBIZ Insurance: CBIZ offers vacation rental insurance that can be customized to cover extended stays. They’re known for flexibility, so it’s worth discussing your specific needs with them.
3. Allstate Landlord Insurance: If you’re looking for coverage beyond the short-term, traditional landlord insurance through providers like Allstate can be an option. These policies are generally structured for long-term rentals but can be adapted for medium-term leases.
4. Farmers Insurance: Similar to Allstate, Farmers offers landlord insurance policies that cover longer-term stays. They also provide additional options for liability and property damage.
It’s always a good idea to speak directly with an insurance agent to discuss your specific situation and ensure you’re fully covered. Make sure to ask about any limitations or exclusions that might apply to longer stays.
Hope this helps, and good luck finding the right coverage!
