Issue with being a co-host as a Superhost.

I’ve had several Airbnb hosts with existing listings approach me to co-host their properties. However, as a long-standing Superhost, the Airbnb system doesn’t allow me to co-host their listings. Airbnb has explained that doing so would automatically grant the properties an undeserved Superhost status. To resolve this, they suggest creating a new account for the property, which would require deleting the host’s current account.

The challenge is that many of these hosts have been in business for years and deeply value their existing reviews and reputation. Starting from scratch simply isn’t an appealing option, which makes co-hosting unviable under the current system.

I’m eager to grow my business, and I believe co-hosting could be mutually beneficial. Does anyone have suggestions or workarounds for this situation?

You are incorrect on this I'm afraid . I have been cohosting properties for five years and am a Superhost  @Suzanna9 

Read the cohosting section on the Airbnb Help website to better understand how cohosting works on Airbnb.

All you need to do is to advise the host to send you a link from their existing listing inviting you to cohost . Sorted 😀😀😀

Thanks Helen. Good to hear! Hosts have been unable to send me invitations. I have asked AirBnb Support who told me it isn't possible. I will ask hosts to try again, and if it doesn't work tell AirBnb you have been able to do it, so there is a precedent.

It sounds like a user error on the part of the  host who is trying to invite you.

Have you sent them a link to the guidance on the Airbnb Help Centre showing them how to do it @Suzanna9 

You dont have to tell Airbnb I have done it . Just quote their own guidance saying it can be done on the Airbnb Help website. But quite honestly I don't rely on anything the CS team at Airbnb say it's normally wrong - use the Airbnb Help website it's much more accurate.

@Suzanna9  If the hosts have been in business for years and are NOT Superhosts, then why would they deeply value their existing reviews and reputations?

With the introduction of Guest Favorite, AirBnB actually lowered Superhost standards. At this point, if they are not Superhosts, then they are probably in the ratings danger zone, where they will be kicked off AirBnB if their ratings don't improve, so starting from scratch would actually be a benefit to them, although it's not allowed by AirBnB. 

That's what's confusing to me.....
