LENGTH OF STAY

LENGTH OF STAY

I listed my property on a Monday (first time host) and by Wednesday I had a five day booking followed by a 54 day booking.  While I was setting up the listing following lots of good advice from AirBnB and the plethora of You Tubers out there, AirBnB suggested offering a discount for the first three bookings to generate interest.  I'm expecting "short term rentals" means 3-5 days, one week at the most.  Lo and behold two bookings occurred immediately.  Yeah for me, however, the 54 day booking was approved at a considerable discount.  Are there any red flags concerning 54 days?  Is it ok to question a guests reasons for staying that long?  The booking was for three guests but only one was identified.  The identified guest stated he could not be there to check in.  Any red flags in this scenario?

@Guy850 Yep plenty of red flags there. I would seriously consider limiting stays to a week or two until you get established. If the guest who booked isn't coming then you are even more exposed as Airbnb do not protect hosts from 3rd party bookings. I would contact Airbnb and ask for a neutral cancellation given that the guest has said he won't be there.
