@Rita2164 We use deadbolt door locks with codes, but sometimes the guest will also lock the interior "safety" lock and shut the door, effectively locking themselves out. We keep a lockbox with the key for this extra lock in a location that is not obvious, i.e., away from the door and not at eye height.
If you are wanting to keep a lockbox for the primary key, then you want to have it also in a location that while convenient is not obvious -- I have stayed at AirBnBs where the lockbox was hanging on the door knob like a realtors box, which was incredibly tacky. The best location that I have ever seen was a decorative letter box on the wall near the door with the lockbox mounted inside it.
