Local codes and permits

Local codes and permits

Hello and good day! I have had my yurt on Airbnb for over three years now and suddenly the city of Alameda has decided to come after me for various code violations. Without overly explaining the exact situation my question is: my exact square footage is under 120sq exempting me from needing a permit, but it looks like once i have a bed inside the yurt, the law changes. If I were to permit it as an ADU then City of Alameda says I'm not allowed to use it on AIRBNB as a short term rental. How has other hosts navigated this?

Hi @Ethan514, Welcome to our Community!

Did you manage to find anything about Local codes and permits with respect to your exact concern?

If not, I would recommend you to get in touch with Local Hosts through this link : https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Local-Host-Clubs/ct-p/en_clubs . I couldn't find one in Alameda exactly, but there's one nearby.

This is a global forum. Do you have a grass roots organization in your state like we do here in AZ?
