Long term lets

Dear All,

I'm fairly new here, and I was wondering how people feel about letting for 6 months or more? I've had a couple of requests from students coming here to study and how want to stay for longer. 

First of all I'm worried about whether it's a scam - you can't be too careful. But secondly, I'm just worried in general - the fuel bill over winter will be quite high, why don't they contact local letting companies, or why doesn't the school tell them about accommodation? Isn't this a really expensive way to do things?

@Anila76 Its hard to comment as you don't appear to have a listing. But the tax and legal implications of a long stay do need to be taken into account along with the costs already mentioned by you.

If you do want long term lets there are better and cheaper routes to market than Airbnb.
